Field Tested
We test everything first. Then we sell it.
Every product we carry is fished through real Puget Sound conditions by local anglers before it ever reaches a shelf — no exceptions.
Our Process
How We Field Test
Field testing starts before a product ever reaches Puget Sound. We evaluate a manufacturer's materials, tooling, and quality control at the source, then bring a limited run home for real-world trial.
From there, local anglers put it to work through the paces this region actually demands — saltwater jigging for squid, salmon trolling in open water, lingcod and rockfish on the reefs, steelhead in cold rivers. We're checking for what a spec sheet can't tell you: how a rod loads under real pressure, how a reel holds up to saltwater and repeated use, how tackle performs when the bite is slow and the conditions are working against you.
A product only earns a place in our shop after it proves itself here — not in a lab, not on paper, but on the water we actually fish.
