MEET THE MANUFACTURER
Adi
West Java, Indonesia
The jigs offered through Puget Sound Rods are produced by Adi and his team in West Java, Indonesia.
Adi's journey began in 2017, after the loss of his mother. During a difficult period in his life, he found himself drawn deeper into the world of saltwater fishing. What started as a passion for fishing quickly became a fascination with metal jigs and lure design.
Determined to learn how they were made, Adi began teaching himself the craft through experimentation, practice, and countless hours of hands-on work. He didn't learn from a factory or large manufacturer — he developed his own techniques through experience and persistence.
In the beginning, Adi worked entirely alone. Every jig was made by hand, and every aspect of the operation was handled by a single person. As demand grew, so did the workshop. By 2019, he had hired his first employees, and today he works alongside a team of 18 people who help produce fishing tackle for anglers throughout Asia.
One of the things Adi is most proud of is the quality of the glow finish used on his jigs. Rather than focusing solely on low-cost production, he developed a process that applies a thicker glow coating designed to remain brighter and visible longer underwater. That commitment to quality has become a defining characteristic of his work.
Despite the growth of the business, Adi still personally oversees many aspects of the operation and remains closely involved with customers and product development.
The philosophy that guides his work is simple: “Be honest with customers. Stand behind your products. If there is a problem, take responsibility and make it right.”
That commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and continuous improvement is one of the reasons Puget Sound Rods chose to work with Adi and his team in West Java.
